Education roles you will see

Classroom teachers are needed across early years, primary and secondary, in subjects from English, maths and science to Arabic, Islamic studies and computing. Special educational needs teachers and learning support assistants are in demand as schools expand inclusion support.

Leadership roles include heads of department, heads of year, deputy principals and principals. Universities and colleges hire lecturers, researchers and student-services staff, and training providers recruit trainers for corporate and vocational courses.

Qualifications and approvals

Most schools require a degree and a recognised teaching qualification, and many prefer experience in the curriculum they teach. In Dubai, private schools are overseen by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, and in Abu Dhabi by the Department of Education and Knowledge; teachers may also need to meet national teacher licensing requirements.

Document attestation and background checks are a standard part of hiring. Schools usually guide successful candidates through these steps. Voxxhire does not check qualifications or licences.

Timing your application

Schools in the region typically recruit for the following academic year from late autumn through spring, with a smaller wave of hiring for mid-year starts. Applying early gives you the widest choice of roles.

Teaching packages often include housing or a housing allowance, flights, medical insurance and sometimes tuition support for your own children. Ask about class sizes, teaching load and professional development as well as salary.

Choosing the right school

Schools in the Gulf differ widely in curriculum, size, culture and inspection ratings, so it pays to research before you accept an offer. Published inspection reports, where available, give a useful picture of a school's strengths. Ask about leadership stability, staff turnover, support for new teachers and the balance of nationalities in the student body. If you are moving with family, check tuition arrangements for your own children and the commute from likely housing areas before you sign a contract.

How applying works on Voxxhire

Voxxhire lists two kinds of roles. Many listings are imported from employers' own public career sites. For those, the Apply button takes you to the employer's site and your application is handled there, under that employer's own process.

Other roles are posted by employers who run their hiring on Voxxhire. For those you apply on Voxxhire, and depending on how the employer has set up the role, you may be invited to a short structured interview with an AI interviewer, in English or Arabic. It produces notes and an advisory summary for the employer's team; people at the employer review your answers and make every hiring decision.

Before you apply, check the location, work model and any eligibility requirements in the listing. Voxxhire does not check visas, professional licences or right-to-work status, so confirm those directly with the employer.

Frequently asked questions

When do Gulf schools hire teachers?

Most recruit for the next academic year from late autumn to spring, with some mid-year hiring. Roles appear on this page as schools publish them.

Do I need a teaching licence for the UAE?

Teachers may need to meet national teacher licensing requirements, and schools are overseen by regulators such as the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai. Your school will explain the steps.

Are university and training jobs included here?

Yes, when the title matches terms such as lecturer, education or tutor. Corporate trainer roles appear when the title uses one of those words.

Why does the Apply button sometimes open another website?

Some roles are imported from the employer's own careers site. Applying there sends your details straight to the employer, which handles the application under its own process.

Who decides whether I am shortlisted?

The employer does. Where an employer uses an AI-assisted interview on Voxxhire, the AI's notes and summary are advisory, and people at the employer review them before making any decision.
